The Orange Leader
News out of Pinehurst Tuesday morning was alarming concerning a Beaumont business local city leaders are trying to contact over the phone.
City councilmembers in Pinehurst as well as a local businessman raised concerns over Phelan Investments who they say is hard to get hold of on a telephone call.
Phelan Investments owns several shopping centers around Orange County and several have empty buildings which could be turned into tax paying businesses.
Dean Granger of Granger Chevrolet reported phone calls have not been returned and Pinehurst City Administrator Joe Parkhurst said the same thing.
The act of not even returning a phone call is simply bad business.
It sounds to us the city of Pinehurst is wanting to develop the properties and to have the owner ignore phone calls is not professional.
We hope in the near future city of Pinehurst officials find a way to contact the property owner and set up a formal line of communication in which both sides can benefit from businesses coming and staying in town.
