ORANGE — A Beaumont man was indicted by the Orange County Grand Jury Wednesday of improper photography or visual recording stemming from a July investigation at Little Cypress Baptist Church.

Daniel Turner, 36, was indicted on three charges of improper photography or visual recording after a church member first reported the incident on July 20. The church is located at 3274 Little Cypress Drive in orange.

A church member reported to deputies of the Orange County Sheriff’s Office a hidden camera was mounted on the wall in the restroom and had been recording people without their knowledge.

Turner later admitted to playing the camera in the restroom and also admitted to placing cameras in other restrooms and dressing rooms at stores and other locations in Beaumont.

The Beaumont Police Department was notified soon after and Turner was indicated by the Jefferson County Grand Jury in October on the same charges.

He was arrested and was released on bond.

Turner turned himself in at the Orange County Correctional Facility on Thursday for three counts of improper photography or visual recording, a state felony, and bond was set at $30,000.
