Warmer temps, showers forecast for Thursday

ORANGE — Orange County can expect heavy winds and about an inch of rain Thursday as a storm system from the west slowly makes its way into Southeast Texas.

Winds are expected to reach 10 to 15 mph while the bulk of the storms are forecast to reach the area Thursday morning and Thursday afternoon.

The chance of rain Thursday is at 80 percent.

Roger Erickson with the National Weather Service in Lake Charles, La. said Orange County is in an active pattern throughout Sunday.

The forecaster said Southeast Texas can again expect showers on Friday and again on Sunday.

HIghs Thursday will be in the lower 70s with lows Thursday night in the upper 40s.

Friday will have a 20 percent chance of showers with partly cloudy skies through Saturday night.

There is a 20 percent chance of showers Sunday afternoon with a 30 percent chance of showers Sunday night.
