Vidor Rotary Club will host a community-wide garage sale on Saturday, Nov. 3 in the Woods Plaza parking lot on North Main Street in Vidor. The event will run from 8 a.m. until noon, and patrons can secure a booth for $10.
“A booth will encompass one parking spot,” said Vidor Rotary Club President Sally Andrews. “So basically, anything you can fit into a parking spot is the space you will have.” The spot size is 21-feet long by 10 1/2 feet wide.
Some organizations are already gearing up to buy more than one space to host their sale. “All we ask,” says Andrews, “is that no one sell food or beverages. Rotary reserves the food and beverage concession.”
Set-up for the event will begin at 7 a.m., so Andrews encourages patrons to have their items ready to set out, priced and organized. Clean-up must be completed by 1 p.m.
“This is going to be a great event for our community, and we invite individuals, church groups, school groups, or community entities to come out and raise some funds,” she added. “We have about 75 spaces available, so you will want to reserve yours as soon as possible.”
Vidor Rotary will sell doughnuts and drinks for breakfast, then Frito pie and drinks closer to lunch time.
“We think it’s going to be a lot of fun,” says Andrews, adding that Rotary is raising funds for its various local projects, including feeding Vidor children when school is not in session.
If raining, the event will be re-scheduled for a later date. No refunds will be given.
Forms for the event are available at Capital One Bank or by e-mailing Andrews at firstname.lastname@example.org. The booth fee must be paid no later than Thursday, Nov. 1 at noon for a space to be reserved.
