ORANGE — Regional Henry Blackaby Conf.

Little Cypress Baptist Church will be the host of the Regional Henry Blackaby Conference, at 6 p.m., Friday, Oct. 5, and 9 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 6. Blackaby is the well-known author of “Experiencing God” and other study books used by many churches nation-wide. Call the church at 409-883-8905 for info or schedule.

Saturday Adventure Series

Shangri La Botanical Gardens and Nature Center, 2111 W. Park Ave. in Orange, will hold its Saturday Adventure Series, at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 6. “Poetry of Plants” will help guests learn about and write your own Orchid Haiku. For adults and children ages 10 and older. RSVP is required. Call 409-670-9799.

Farmers Market

The Orange County Farmers’ Market will be held in the parking lot in front of Big Lots on MacArthur Drive in Pinehurst from 3 p.m. - 6 p.m., every Wednesday, and 7 a.m. - 10 a.m., every Saturday. Items available are eggplant, okra, peppers, blueberries, jellies, honey, eggs, bread, plants and more. The vendors appreciate small bills if you have them. Call 409-882-7010 for info.

Benefit

A benefit will be held for Carroll Wayne Hodgkinson to help with his medical costs associated with a terminal illness. The event will start at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6 a the American Legion located on Green Ave. BBQ dinners will be available along with local bands, auction items, raffle tickets, a 50/50 drawining and a cake walk. Community Sidewalk Sale

Thrift and Gift Shop, 350 N. 37th St. in Orange, will hold a community-wide Sidewalk Sale from 8 a.m. - 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 6. Covered spaces measuring 10’ x 12’ are available for $12 each. Clean out your closets and garages and make extra money. Call 409-886-7649 for info or to reserve a space.
