It is time to take action.
United Network Involving The Youth (UNITY) is striving to become a reality in Orange.
UNITY’s goal is to provide hope for the youth of the community by helping provide a coalition between services available in the area and to create services that are needed to assist the youth of the area become productive members of society.
“It is time to get involved,” Reverend Anthony Jackson with Mt. Zion Missionary Church, 512 John Street, said. “We need to get up and do something.”
Jackson said UNITY will help create programs that are needed and relationships with providers of existing programs.
“I have seen the power of unity work in Orange when Lion’s Park was built,” Jackson said. “Everyone in the community worked together to make it happen. It was beautiful.”
Some of the services the group hopes to develop for the area include professional skills development, help with chemical dependency, faith-based counseling, and financial literacy.
UNITY will hold a meeting at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Zion Missionary Church located at 512 John Street in Orange. The meeting is open to the public.
