ORANGE — Fish Fry

St. Francis of Assissi Knights of Columbus Council 13825 will be selling fish dinners from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m., Friday, March 8, March 15 and March 22 in the San Damiano Center, 4300 Meeks Drive in Orange. Meal is $8 and includes 2 pieces fish, french fries, hush puppies, cole slaw, drink and dessert. Dine in or take out.

Catfish Dinners

St. Therese Catholic Church, 1409 N. Sixth St. in Orange, will have catfish dinners available from 10:30 a.m. - 1 p.m., every Friday during Lent. Meal is $8 and includes catfish, red rice, potato salad, green beans, cake and bread. Delivery available on orders of 5 or more. Call 409-883-3783 for orders.

Income Tax Assistance

AARP Tax Filing Assistance Program will be offered from 12:15 p.m. - 4 p.m., every Wedneaday and Friday at the Orange Public Library. Bring the following, all W-2 and 1099 forms, records of capital gains and losses, copy of 2011 tax return, receipts of medical expenses, major purchases and social security cards for dependents.

Pool tournament

The Fraternal Order of Eagles, 803 N. 28th St. in Orange, will host a pool tournament beginning at 8 p.m., every Friday. Prize money will given to first and second place winners. Food will be available. Call Sharon Bodin at 409-735-8662 or 409-719-7793 for info.

Saturday Adventure Series

Shangri La Botanical Gardens and Nature Center, 2111 W. Park in Orange, will hold its Saturday Adventure Series from 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 9. “Bare Bones” will fascinate children of all ages by learning about bones and the mysteries that skulls can reveal. Retired teachers

Retired Teachers of Orange County will meet at 11 a.m., Monday, March 11 at Wesley United Methodist Church, 401 37th St. in Orange. Discussion of current session of Texas Legislature will be topic and Chester Moore will be guest speaker. A light lunch will be served following.
