Art in the Park
The annual Art in the Park festival will be held from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., Saturday, March 22 at Orange Riverfront Pavilion and Boardwalk in downtown Orange. More than 130 vendors will be on site offering a variety of art such as paintings, pottery, woodcarvings, sculptures, jewelry and more. Live music from Britt Godwin at 10 a.m., David Joel at noon, and The Peterson Brothers Band at 2 p.m. Admission is free. No coolers, pets or dogs are allowed. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets.
Le Grand Bal
Lamar University invites the public to its Le Grand Bal: “An Evening of Art,” a black-tie event at 7 p.m., Saturday, March 22 in the Montagne Center in Beaumont. Tickets are $150 per person. Orange County Judge will hold an Administrative Public Hearing at 1:30 p.m., Monday, March 24, in the Commissioners Courtroom of the Orange County Administration Building, 123 S. 6th Street in Orange. The purpose of the public hearing is granting a Mass Gathering Permit to the Mauriceville Crawfish Festival for Friday, April 11, 2014 - Sunday, April 13, 2014 The public is invited.

City Council meeting cancelled
The Monday, March 24, 2014 meeting of the West Orange City Council has been cancelled. The next Regular Session of Council will convene at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, April 14, 2014.
The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2775 will hold a Veterans Recognition program at 6:30 p.m., Monday, March 24 at the VFW Hall, 5303 N. 16th St. in Orange on events during the Kosovo Campaign. The program will open with a short talk on events leading up to and about the campaign by Commander Jim Seales, followed by a slide show by John Clark. The public is invited to attend.
