ORANGE — Scottish Society

The Scottish Society of Southeast Texas will meet Thursday, March 13 at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 1350 23rd St. at Gladys in Beaumont. A covered dish supper will be served at 6:30 p.m. followed by program. Andrew Bollich, singer and guitarist, will perform folk music from Scotland and Ireland as part of St. Patrick Day celebration. Lutcher Service Guild

The Lutcher Theater Service Guild will meet at 5:30 p.m., Thursday, March 13 in the lobby of the third floor of the Lutcher Theater, 707 Main in Orange. All volunteers are urged to attend. Chicken Spaghetti fundraiser

The Fraternal Order of Eagles, 803 N. 28th St., will hold its weekly luncheon fundraiser on Thursday, March 13. Meal is $8 and includes chicken spaghetti, field peas, glazed carrots, bread and cookie. Delivery available for orders of 2 or more. Orders must be placed by 6 p.m., Wednesday, March 12. AAUW Book drive

The Orange Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) is beginning its annual drive to collect “gently used” books for their scholarship fund. All books, fiction, non-fiction, hardbound or paper back are needed. Also needed are audio and video tapes, CDs, and DVDs. These may be delivered to the Mann Insurance Agency, located at 1505 Park Ave. at 15th Street, during regular business hours. If unable to deliver your donations, you may call 409-886-5739 or 409-886-2194 to arrange for pickup.



Fish dinners

The Knights of Columbus Orange Council No. 1680 will hold a fish fry from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m., every Friday, during Lent at St. Mary Church Parish Hall at Cherry Avenue in Orange. Meal includes 3 piece fried or baked fish for $8 or 2 piece for $7 plus fries, cole slaw, sauces, tea, water and dessert. The public is invited.



Fish Dinners

St. Francis of Assisi Knights of Columbus Council 13825 is selling fish dinners in the San Damiano Center, behind the church, from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m., every Friday, during Lent through April 11 at 4300 Meeks Drive in Orange. Cost is $8 and includes two pieces of fish, French fries, hush puppies, cole slaw, drink and dessert. Available for dine in or carryout.



Lenten Fish finners

The Knights of Columbus will offer fish dinners from 10:30 a.m. - 1 p.m., every Friday during Lent through April 11 at the Bridge City KC Hall on West Roundbunch, adjacent to St. Henry Catholic Church. Cost is $8 and includes fried fish, French fries, cole slaw and hush puppies. Available for dine-in or take out. Delivery available for orders of 10 or more. Fish Fry

St. Therese Catholic Church, 1409 Sixth St. in Orange, is selling fish dinners from 10:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m., every Friday during Lent. Cost is $8 and meal includes fried fish, red rice, potato salad, green beans, cake and bread. Call 409-883-3783 for orders or information.



Pool tournament

The Fraternal Order of Eagles. Aerie 2523, located at 803 N. 28th Street, Orange, Texas host a pool tournament each Friday beginning at 8 p.m. The community is invited to come meet the members of Aerie 2523 and join in the fun. For more information leave a message after 4 p.m. at 409-886-7381.



Charity Fair

The Fraternal Order of Eagles, located at 803 N. 28th St. in Pinehurst, will hold its annual Charity Fair from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m., Saturday, March 15 featuring live entertainment, auction, 50/50 tickets, scratch offs, cake walk, raffle tickets for a gun safe, food and more. Teresa Vincent Wilhite benefit

A benefit will be held for the family of Teresa Vincent Wilhite, to help cover medical costs prior to Teresa’s death, starting at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 15 at the VFW Post 2775, 5303 N. 16th St. in Orange. There will be a live band, live auction, silent auction, raffle's, gumbo, links, nachos, moon walks, plant sale, bake sale, arts and crafts, washer board tournament and more. Art and Photography Show

The Nederland Heritage Festival Art and Photography Show sponsored by the Nederland Art Guild will be from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., Saturday, March 15, at the Texas Artists Museum, 3501 Cultural Center Drive in Port Arthur, near the Bob Bowers Civic Center. You may enter paintings and photography from 9 a.m. until noon. After noon, the entries will be judged and available for viewing. You must pick them up at 5 p.m. Ribbons will be awarded in all categories.



Charity dance

The Fraternal Order of Eagles will hold its annual Charity Fair Dance from 7 p.m. - 11 p.m., Saturday, March 15, at the VFW Hall in Starks, La. featuring Britt Godwin and BB and Company. Red Hot Flashers

The Red Hot Flashers of the Red Hat Society will meet at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, March 20, at the home of Billie Becker at Ye Ole Boat House on Front Street. The guest chef will cook gumbo, potato salad and birthday cake. Ladies are asked to bring door prizes to be used for bingo prizes. Birthday ladies are Lady Evangeline, Billie Becker: Lady Dee, Charlene Denman: and Miss Priss, Zella Williams: Miss Priss is our oldest member and considered a “Golden Girl”. Art Classes

Art classes for the Port Arthur Art Association are held from 12:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m., every Friday at the Texas Artists Museum, 3501 Cultural Center Drive, near the Bob Bower Civic Center. Shirley Peel will instruct classes will March 21, March 28, April 4, April 11, April 25, and May 2. No class will be held on April 18. The cost is $4 for members, and $5 for non-members. Bloomin’ Crazy Plant Sale

The Orange County Master Gardener Association of Orange will hold its annual Bloomin’ Crazy Plant Sale from 8 a.m. - 1 p.m., Saturday, March 29 at Jewel Cormier Park, 8235 FM 1442 in Orangefield. A variety of plants from annuals, perennials, Texas SuperStars, Natives, vines, butterfly, house plants, tropicals, lilies, citrus, shrubs, trees, vegetables including herbs and a huge selection of tomato and pepper plants. There will be many hard-to-find plants also available. Vendors selling bonsai plants, and unique gifts will be available along with a composting demonstration booth, Master Gardeners to answer horticulture related questions and a garden flea market. Southeast Texas Hospice will hold its annual mystery dinner fundraiser at 6:30 p.m., Monday, March 31, and Tuesday, April 1, at St. Mary Parish Hall, 912 W. Cherry in Orange.
