Operation Kid Safe

Mike Bott’s safety team will be at Cecil Toyota, 2500 I-10 West in Orange, on Friday, Oct. 26, and Saturday, Oct. 27, to fingerprint and photo all of the children. We will have the fire department with a truck, police department and the sheriff’s department with cars, safety tips and even some gun-handling safety tips. The mechanical robot (SPARKY) will make a guest appearance.

 

Dinosaur Day

Dinosaur Day at The Texas Energy Museum, 600 Main St. in Beaumont, will be held from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 27. This year will be the 20th Dinosaur Day and will continue to feature hands-on outdoor family activities and crafts about dinosaurs, fossils and paleontology. Call 409-833-5100 for info.

 

Saturday Adventure Series

Shangri La Botanical Gardens and Nature Center, 2111 W. Park Ave. in Orange, will hold its Saturday Adventure Series, at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 27. “Night Life at Shangri La” is a family program where we’ll turn off the lights and rely on our senses of hearing and touch as we explore the world of nocturnal animals and their adaptations. Heroes Unmasked

Cove Baptist Church, 1005 DuPont Drive in Orange, invites children to its Heroes Unmasked event from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 28. “At our Heroes Unmasked event, kids will meet heroes worth having.” Carnival games will be featured. Call 409-883-4155 for info.

 

Barbecue fundraiser

The Fraternal Order of Eagles, located at 803 N. 28th St. in Orange, will hold a barbecue lunch event from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 15. The meal includes brisket, link, baked beans, potato salad, bread, cookie and trimmings. Cost is $8 per plate. Walk-ins welcome and delivery is available. Orders are accepted on Tuesday, Nov. 14; Wednesday, Nov. 15; and before 9 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 20, by calling 409-779-7793.

 

Pet Safety with Santa Claus

Cecil Toyota, 2500 I-10 West in Orange, will have Pet Safety with Santa Claus from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 8. We will have gift bags and treats for all visitors, plus the Humane Society, Local Vets and pet stores will be participating in this event. Pets will possibly be on display and offered for adoption also.

 

BC Christmas Parade
