Farmers Market

The Orange County Farmers’ Market will be held in the parking lot in front of Big Lots on MacArthur Drive in Pinehurst from 3 p.m. - 6 p.m., every Wednesday, and 7 a.m. - 10 a.m., every Saturday. Items available are eggplant, okra, peppers, blueberries, jellies, honey, eggs, bread, plants and more. The vendors appreciate small bills if you have them. Call 409-882-7010 for info.

 

Pecan fundraiser

The Mighty Pirates 4-H Club is selling the famous Durham-Ellis pecans from Comanche, Texas, and is accepting orders till Oct. 12. Pecans will be available for pickup before Thanksgiving. Items availabe are raw pecans, flavor pecans, specialty nuts and mixes at various prices. Raw pecans are $9 for a 1 lb bag, $28 for a 3 lb box and $43 for a 5 lb box. Women’s Workshop

Mt. Zion will hold a women’s workshop at 8:30 a.m., Saturday, Sept, 29, featuring Evangelists Ebonique Celestine and Marilyn Earnest, and 11 a.m., Sunday, Sept. 30, featuring Minister Hilda Williams. Vendors will be present Saturday. Event is open to the public and free of charge. Call Elderly Netherly at 409-330-0034 for info.

 

Smithsonian Day

The Stark Museum of Art and W.H. Stark House invite the public for free tours on Saturday, Sept. 29, part of the Smithsonian Museum Day Live event. At the Stark Museum, Docent Dr. Arlene Turkel will give a spotlight on “Georgia O’Keeffe and Gerald’s Tree II” at 11 a.m., noon and 1 p.m. Visitors who bring a Museum Day Live! Ticket from Smithsonian will receive a free box of note cards. At The W.H. Stark House, visitors that bring a Smithsonian Museum Day Live! Ticket will be given a free tour of The Stark House. Jam session

The Fraternal Order of Eagles, Sabine Aerie 2523, located at 803 N. 28th St. in Orange, Texas will host the first weekly jam session from 3 p.m. - 6 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 30. The music will vary from country, cajun and swamp pop with an open stage. All entertainers are invited. Admission is free with no cover charge. Food will be available for a nominal charge.
