Mother’s Day Sale
The Golden Triangle Bromeliad Society will have its annual Mother’s Day Plant Sale from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., Saturday, May 11, at Central Mall, 3100 Hwy 365 in Port Arthur. The public is invited.
A garage sale will be held from 7 a.m. - noon, Saturday, May 11, at 1911 N. 16th St. in Orange benefiting the CCS Cheerleaders. There will also be a bake sale and a pulled pork sandwich sale too.

Saturday Adventure Series
Shangri La Botanical Garden and Nature Center, 2111 W. Park in Orange, invites the public to its Saturday Adventure Series, “Caffeinated Plants,” at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, May 11. This adult program explores the caffeinated plants that grow in Shangri La. Wear walking shoes for scavenger hunt. Space is limited. RSVP by calling 409-670-9799.
OC Farmers Market
The Orange County Farmers Market is back in season twice-per-week from 7 a.m. - 10 a.m., Saturday, and 3 p.m. - 6 p.m., every Wednesday, in the parking lot of Big Lots on MacArthur Drive in Pinehurst. The public is welcome to attend.
A Farmers Market is now available starting at 8:30 a.m., every Saturday, through November at Rocking R Farm and Ranch, 2772 State Highway 12 in Vidor. Vendors are welcome and there is no charge for booths. Call 409-422-4184 for information.
Retired Teachers of Orange County will hold its final meeting of the term at 11 a.m., Monday, May 13 at Wesley United Methodist Church, 401 37th St. in Orange. Nancy Hooker will direct the installation of officers for the 2013-2014 meeting year. A covered dish luncheon will be served.
