Veterans Recognition Program
Orange VFW Post 2775, located at 5303 N. 16th St. in Orange, will present a Veterans Recognition Program at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 11 on “Patriot’s Day.” Contact John Clark at 409-883-0264 for more information.
American Legion Lloyd Grubbs Auxiliary 49 is conducting its membership drive for 2014. We are still collecting dues for 2013. If you haven’t paid yet, please mail your dues to ALA UNIT 49, P.O. Box 2158, Orange, Texas, 77630. We will also be hosting a flag retirement ceremony at 6 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 11. The public is invited.
The Vidor City Council will meet at 7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 12, at City Hall, 1395 N. Main St. in Vidor. The public is welcome to attend.
The Scottish Society of Southeast Texas will meet Thursday, Sept. 12 at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 1350 23rd St. at Gladys in Beaumont. A covered dish supper will be served at 6:30 p.m. followed by a program. Marilyn Manson Hayes will present program on theatrical costumers. Anyone interested in Scotland is invited to attend.
