ORANGE — Community Trash-Off

The annual Community Trash-Off will be held from 8 a.m. - 1 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 1 to help clean the streets of Orange, West Orange, Pinehurst and the banks of Adams Bayou. Pearson Alumni Basketball Game

Huddle Up for Life

The first ever Huddle Up for Life fundraiser will be held on Sunday, Feb. 2. Sign-up for a motorcycle and classic car poker run will begin at 11 a.m. at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 803 N. 28th St. in Orange. Entry is $20 per vehicle and $5 rider. A pool and washer tournament will be held at noon, at Cotton’s Cay, 8379 N. Hwy 87 in Orange. Cost is $15 with $5 buy-in. Call 337-274-1482 for information.

The Vidor Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m., Monday, Feb. 3 at in the Fellowship Hall of First Pentecostal Church at Camp and Wilson Streets.



City Council

Pine Forest City Council will meet at 7 p.m., Monday, Feb. 3 at City Hall, 305 Nagel St. in Pine Forest. The public is welcome to attend.



AAUW Book drive

The Orange Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) is beginning its annual drive to collect “gently used” books for their scholarship fund. All books, fiction, non-fiction, hardbound or paper back are needed. Also needed are audio and video tapes, CDs, and DVDs. These may be delivered to the Mann Insurance Agency, located at 1505 Park Ave. at 15th Street, during regular business hours. If unable to deliver your donations, you may call 409-886-5739 or 409-886-2194 to arrange for pickup.



Vidor TOPS Chapter

The Vidor Chapter of TOPS meets at 7 p.m., every Monday, at First United Methodist Church, 501 N. Main in Vidor. Weigh-in is from 6 p.m. - 6:45 p.m.

Christian Writers Guild

The Orange County Republican Party will hold a debate for candidates running for Orange County Judge at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 4, at the Raymond Gould Community Center, 385 Claiborne in Vidor. The public is invited to attend.



Parkinson Awareness Group

Plate lunch fundraiser

American Legion Post 49, 108 Green Ave. in Orange, will hold a plate lunch fundraiser from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 6. Cost is $8 and meal consists of fried fish, potato salad, green beans, cole slaw, bread and dessert. Walk-in’s welcome and delivery available. Quilt Show

The Golden Triangle Quilt Guild will hold its “For the Love of Quilts” quilt show from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., Friday, Feb. 7, and Saturday, Feb. 8 at the Beaumont Civic Center, 701 Main St. in Beaumont. Admission is $5 for seniors and children and $6 for adults. Chuck Young Alumni Classic

The Chuck Young Alumni Classic will be held on Saturday, Feb. 8 at Bridge City High School. Homerun derby will begin at 10:30 a.m. with a baseball player alumni game to follow at noon. Retired Senior Citizens

Mystery Dinner

Southeast Texas Hospice will hold its annual mystery dinner fundraiser at 6:30 p.m., Monday, March 31, and Tuesday, April 1, at St. Mary Parish Hall, 912 W. Cherry in Orange.
