The Orange City Public Library located at 220 North Fifth Street in Orange will be spending the entire week of October 20-26 celebrating its Friends of the Library group as part of the eighth annual celebration of National Friends of Libraries Week.
The Friends of the Orange City Public Library were established in 1953 and members actively volunteer their time to assist the group with fundraising efforts that include the annual used book sale held every spring.
Friends of the Orange Public Library use the annual ‘window drawing’ as a way to celebrate National Friends of Libraries as well as drawing attention to the available resources of the library. Each item in the window is donated and the design to display the pleasure of reading. The winner of a drawing will win the entire display of books and other items. Items range from snacks to blankets as well as books for various age groups.
Items for this years window were donated by HEB, WalMart, The Jumping Bean, Orange Stationer, J. Porter and V. Bonar according to a press release.
A library card or membership is not required to enter into the drawing. Individuals must be at least six years old.
Past winners, Orange Public Library employees and Friends of the Orange City Public Library board members are not eligible.
The lucky name will be drawn and notified after the last day.
