Distinguished Faculty Lecture
James Esser, professor of psychology at Lamar University, will present Lamar’s 26th annual Distinguished Faculty Lecture at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 13, in the University Theatre on the Lamar campus in Beaumont. “Negotiating with Terrorists” will be Esser’s topic. The Fraternal Order of Eagles, located at 803 N. 28th St. in Orange, will hold a barbecue lunch event from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 15. The meal includes brisket, link, baked beans, potato salad, bread, cookie and trimmings. Cost is $8 per plate. Walk-ins welcome and delivery is available. BCHS Alumni Meeting

The Red Hot Flashers of the Red Hat Society will meet at 11:30 a.m., Friday, Nov. 16, at Sunset Grove Country Club in Orange. Lady Sunshine, Bobbie Johnson, is the birthday lady.
