ORANGE — AAUW Book drive

The Orange Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) is beginning its annual drive to collect “gently used” books for their scholarship fund. All books, fiction, non-fiction, hardbound or paper back are needed. Also needed are audio and video tapes, CDs, and DVDs. These may be delivered to the Mann Insurance Agency, located at 1505 Park Ave. at 15th Street, during regular business hours. If unable to deliver your donations, you may call 409-886-5739 or 409-886-2194 to arrange for pickup.



Pool Tournament

VFW Post 8246, 2110 S. Main in Vidor, invites the public to its weekly pool tournament every Friday night. Ages 21 and older only. Call 409-768-1482 for info.



Pool tournament

The Fraternal Order of Eagles. Aerie 2523, located at 803 N. 28th Street, Orange, Texas host a pool tournament each Friday beginning at 8 p.m. The community is invited to come meet the members of Aerie 2523 and join in the fun. For more information leave a message after 4 p.m. at 409-886-7381.

The West Orange and Lutcher Stark High School Classes of 1975 will meet at 4 p.m., Saturday, at Orange Lions Den Park. All classmates are asked to attend.

The Vidor Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m., Monday, March 3 at in the Fellowship Hall of First Pentecostal Church at Camp and Wilson Streets.

Pine Forest City Council will meet at 7 p.m., Monday, March 3 at City Hall, 305 Nagel St. in Pine Forest. The public is welcome to attend.



Vidor TOPS Chapter

The Vidor Chapter of TOPS meets at 7 p.m., every Monday, at First United Methodist Church, 501 N. Main in Vidor. Weigh-in is from 6 p.m. - 6:45 p.m.

Taste of the Triangle

The Sabine Area Restaurant Associations annual fundraiser, “Taste of the Triangle,” will be held from 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 4 in the Beaumont Civic Center. Parkinson Awareness

Orange County Parkinson Awareness Support Group will meet at 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 5, at St. Francis Cathloic Church Hall, 4300 Meeks Drive in Orange. Benefit for Lexy Bertrand

A benefit event will be held for Vidor teenager Lexy Bertrand, who was killed in a February automobile collision, from 3 p.m. - 8 p.m., Saturday, March 9, at Woods Pavilion, 141 N. Main in Vidor. Plate lunches, live music, an auction, bake sale and raffle are all scheduled. All proceeds will go to family for expenses.



Retired teachers

Retired Teachers of Orange County will meet at 11 a.m., Monday, March 10 at Wesley United Methodist Church, 401 37th St. in Orange. Carolyn Williams will present a program on how to create birdhouses. Guests are welcome.

The Fraternal Order of Eagles will hold its annual Charity Fair Dance from 7 p.m. - 11 p.m., Saturday, March 15, at the VFW Hall in Starks, La. featuring Britt Godwin and BB and Company.
