ORANGE — Quilt Show

The Golden Triangle Quilt Guild will hold its “For the Love of Quilts” quilt show from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 8 at the Beaumont Civic Center, 701 Main St. in Beaumont. Admission is $5 for seniors and children and $6 for adults. Chuck Young Alumni Classic

The Chuck Young Alumni Classic will be held on Saturday, Feb. 8 at Bridge City High School. Homerun derby will begin at 10:30 a.m. with a baseball player alumni game to follow at noon. Alumni team coached by Jacob Monceaux will play the Cardinal baseball team. Anyone interested in playing should contact Coach Chris Moore at chris.moore@bridgecityisd.net.

Hearts for the Arts

Hearts for the Arts will be held at the Broussard’s Centre, 1775 Calder in Beaumont, from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 9. The event recognizes the supporters of and raises money for the Southeast Texas Arts Council. Tickets are $30. Contact director@setxac.org or 409-835-2787 for info.

OC Retired teachers

Retired Teachers of Orange County will meet at 11 a.m., Monday, Feb. 10 at Wesley United Methodist Church, 401 37th St. in Orange. Herman Davis, a skilled wood carver, will be the guest speaker. A light lunch will be served.

Retired Senior Citizens

The Orange County Retired Senior Citizens will meet at 9:30 a.m., Monday, Feb. 10 at The Salvation Army Bldg. on MLK and Strickland. Please bring a covered dish for the noon meal. All seniors are welcome to attend. Call 409-883-6161 for more info.

Republican Roundup

The Republican Party in Orange County is having a “Republican Roundup.” The Republican candidates have been invited to Orange on Feb. 10 to meet the voters. It will be held at the VFW Hall on N. Hwy 87 on that Monday from 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. Sponsorship levels are $500 and under (Wrangler); $250 and under (Rancher); $100 and under (Buckaroo).
