Scottish Society

The Scottish Society of Southeast Texas will meet Thursday, Feb. 13 at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 1350 23rd St. at Gladys in Beaumont. A light supper will be served at 6:30 p.m., followed by program at 7:15 p.m. Joe Elwell, KVLU Music Director, will discuss and play music which describes the sights and sounds of Scotland and Ireland. AAUW Book drive

The Orange Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) is beginning its annual drive to collect “gently used” books for their scholarship fund. All books, fiction, non-fiction, hardbound or paper back are needed. Also needed are audio and video tapes, CDs, and DVDs. These may be delivered to the Mann Insurance Agency, located at 1505 Park Ave. at 15th Street, during regular business hours. If unable to deliver your donations, you may call 409-886-5739 or 409-886-2194 to arrange for pickup.
