OC Historical Society

The Orange County Historical Society will hold its regular quarterly meeting at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 4 at the Orange Public Library. Brown Claybar will speak on planned restoration of the Orange Train Depot. E-mail ochs.tx@outlook.com for more info. The public is invited.

City Council

The City of Bridge City will hold its regularly scheduled council meeting at 6 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 4, at City Hall, 260 Rachal in Bridge City. The public is invited.

Parkinson Awareness Group

Chuck Young Alumni Classic

The Chuck Young Alumni Classic will be held on Saturday, Feb. 8 at Bridge City High School. Homerun derby will begin at 10:30 a.m. with a baseball player alumni game to follow at noon. Alumni team coached by Jacob Monceaux will play the Cardinal baseball team. Anyone interested in playing should contact Coach Chris Moore at chris.moore@bridgecityisd.net.

OC Retired teachers

Retired Teachers of Orange County will meet at 11 a.m., Monday, Feb. 10 at Wesley United Methodist Church, 401 37th St. in Orange. A light lunch will be served.

Retired Senior Citizens

The Orange County Retired Senior Citizens will meet at 9:30 a.m., Monday, Feb. 10 at The Salvation Army Bldg. on MLK and Strickland. Please bring a covered dish for the noon meal. All seniors are welcome to attend. Call 409-883-6161 for more info.

Republican Roundup

The Republican Party in Orange County is having a “Republican Roundup.” The Republican candidates have been invited to Orange on Feb. 10 to meet the voters. It will be held at the VFW Hall on N. Hwy 87 on that Monday from 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. Sponsorship levels are $500 and under (Wrangler); $250 and under (Rancher); $100 and under (Buckaroo).
