AAUW Book drive
The Orange Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) is beginning its annual drive to collect “gently used” books for their scholarship fund. All books, fiction, non-fiction, hardbound or paper back are needed. Also needed are audio and video tapes, CDs, and DVDs. These may be delivered to the Mann Insurance Agency, located at 1505 Park Ave. at 15th Street, during regular business hours. If unable to deliver your donations, you may call 409-886-5739 or 409-886-2194 to arrange for pickup.
Vidor TOPS Chapter
The Vidor Chapter of TOPS meets at 7 p.m., every Monday, at First United Methodist Church, 501 N. Main in Vidor. Weigh-in is from 6 p.m. - 6:45 p.m.
The Vidor Rotary Club meets at noon, every Monday, upstairs in the Capital One building on North Main Street.

Author Carolyn Mello is having a book launch for her new book, “Reprisal,” a sequel to “Murder Once Removed,” at 3 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 30 at the Greater Orange Area Chamber of Commerce, located at 10th Street and Green Avenue in Orange.
The annual Community Trash-Off will be held from 8 a.m. - 1 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 1 to help clean the streets of Orange, West Orange, Pinehurst and the banks of Adams Bayou.
