Church Calendar 1.18.14

ORANGE — Catholic Schools Week

St. Mary Catholic School, 2600 Bob Hall Road in Orange, invites the public to celebrate Catholic Schools Week with an Open House event from 1 p.m. - 3 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 26. Students in attendance will be entered into drawing for an iPad. Knights of Columbus will serve hot dogs, chips and drinks with “Sun”daes for dessert. Lunch will be served starting at 1 p.m.; tour classrooms from 1:45 p.m. - 2:15 p.m.; activities in gym and iPad winner announced.

Family Life Skills

First Church of God, 911 Main in Orange, will hold a free Family Life Skills class at 8:30 a.m., every Sunday, starting Feb. 2. Pastor Demetrius Moffett will be discussing topics including parenting skills, surviving divorce and grief recovery. The public is invited. Call 409-330-7218 for info.

Becoming Whole

First Church of God, 911 Main in Orange, will hold a free “Becoming Whole” class at 8:30 a.m., every Sunday, starting Feb. 2. Elder Willa Moffett will be discussing spiritual growth in this six week program. The public is invited. Call 409-330-7218 for info.

Guys, Dolls and Spicy Meatballs

The Youth Ministry of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 2711 Helena in Nederland, will hold its 12th annual dinner event at 6 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 15. Tickets are $12 each or tables are  $100, $120 and $140. Vocal harmony acts will perform, dinner will be served, and a silent auction will be held. Call 409-722-1609 for reservations by Feb. 9.

Bible Study

Tabernacle of Praise Worship Center, 307 Deshotel Lane in Lake Charles, La., will hold its weekly Bible Study at 7 p.m., every Wednesday. Call 337-439-6534 for more information.

Prayer Garden

St. Paul United Methodist Church, 1155 W. Roundbunch, is continuing its plans for its Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow Prayer Garden by paving the garden with a brick walkway. Bricks are for sale for $30 and will be engraved with a personal message. Order forms are located in the St. Paul UMC reception area and online at www.stpaulfamily.org. Call 409-735-5546 for info.
