ORANGE — A benefit is being held for Karen Guidry 11 am Sunday at the VFW Hall, 5303 State Hwy. 87, Orange.

Guidry, recently diagnosed with adenocarciom, a rare form of cancer, is currently undergoing Chemo treatments. The benefit is to assist with the expenses of medical bills and traveling to Houston for treatments.

Guidry is known as being the type of person who is always there for others.

“She is special. She helps anyone that needed help,” said Elaine Cook, friend.

Barbecue plates, raffle tickets, and a live auction as well as live bands will be at the event.

“She always helps everyone else,” Bubba Simpson, boyfriend said. “It is unbelievable the outpouring we have had.”
