The Service League of Orange is currently accepting applications for its Community Needs Committee to encourage projects and events which promote and benefit the entire Orange County area. Vidor ISD Community Education will hold a Hunter Safety class to keep young hunters safe this season from 6:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m., Monday, Sept. 23 and Tuesday, Sept. 24 in the Vidor Middle School cafeteria for ages nine and older. Ages 17 and younger must be accompanied by a parent. The parent may enroll and take the class if desired, but it is not necessary. The class cost is $15 and must be paid in cash. Patrons can register at Vidor ISD administration or on the evening of the class. Pre-registration is urged in order for the teacher to provide enough materials.
Holiday in the Park booth registration
The City of West Orange is accepting booth registration for Holiday in the Park scheduled for Sat. Nov. 2, 2013. Deadline to confirm a booth space is Fri., Oct. 11, 2013. Applications for registration and a site map are on the city’s website at www.cityofwestorange.com

Krewe de Bon Amis had one of the most intriguing floats in the 2014 Mardi Gras parade this past Saturday as the “House of Voodoo” rolled through the streets of Orange tossing beads to thousands in attendance.
