Vidor City Council will only have one meeting in December and that is at 7 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 9, at City Hall, 1395 N. Main St. in Vidor. The public is invited to attend.
American Legion Post 49, 108 Green Ave., Orange, will hold a plate lunch fundraiser from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. Thursday, January 9. The cost is $8. The meal consists of brisket, link, potato salad, beans, bread and dessert. Walk-ins are welcome and delivery is available. Lutcher Service Guild
The Lutcher Theater Service Guild will hold its general meeting at 5:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 9, on the third floor lobby of the theater at 707 Main Ave. in Orange. Orientation for all new volunteers will be held. All volunteers are urged to attend.
A reception for amateur photographer Betty Stephenson will be held at from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 9, at the Texas Artists Museum, 3501 Cultural Center Drive in Port Arthur near the Bob Bowers Civic Center. Entertainment and refreshments will be provided.

The Fraternal Order of Eagles. Aerie 2523, located at 803 N. 28th Street, Orange, Texas host a pool tournament each Friday beginning at 8 p.m. The community is invited to come meet the members of Aerie 2523 and join in the fun. For more information leave a message after 4 p.m. at 409-886-7381.
The Service League of Orange will hold its annual “Patron Party” at 7 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 11 at Sunset Grove Country Club in Orange in advance of the 2014 Follies. Party will include hors d’oeuvres followed by a live and silent auction with all proceeds going to Orange County area charities. OC Retired teachers
Retired Teachers of Orange County will meet at 11 a.m., Monday, Jan. 13 at Wesley United Methodist Church, 401 37th St. in Orange. After the business meeting, the speaker will be Martha Bush, a local children’s book author. A light lunch will be served.
Retired Senior Citizens
The Orange County Retired Senior Citizens will meet at 9:30 a.m., Monday, Jan. 13 at The Salvation Army Bldg. on MLK and Strickland.
