Tommy Mann Jr.'s blog - Updated Wednesday, Dec. 17
Sorry it's been so long since I last updated this blog, but I hope to do a much better job of that from now on.
So, how's life? Are you ready for Christmas yet? I sure am. I love seeing how excited my kids get, especially the youngest, as Christmas gets closer by the day.
He's persistent in his quest for his most wanted gift - the Batcave complete with Batman and Robin by Imaginext. He's already written two letters to Santa, and even sat on his knee at the mall just to make sure he knows what gift to bring.
At least he isn't terrified of St. Nick like his dad was as a child.
Picture this....
As a child, my grandparents always had Santa pay us grandchildren as special pre-delivery visit at their house on Christmas Eve. When he entered the house, I was quick to exit the room, and, more often than not, could be found hiding under my Aunt Lisa's bed until he left the premises. Sad, but funny.
Most everyone who knows me is well aware of my love for music, especially rock and roll. It's a safe bet that I have probably attended 400 concerts (give or take) featuring national music acts throughout my life. I saw AC/DC in concert for the first time this past Sunday, and, it was loud. I mean loud enough to make my ears ring, and that just never happens anymore. (I don't know if that is a good thing or bad a thing.) The ringing passed after a few minutes, so I guess it wasn't too bad, although my wife might argue that point.
There are several great concerts already on tap for 2009, so I'm looking forward to that. Hopefully the new year will beat the 2008 concert year, which has turned out to be a doozy.
One last note before I go. I hate the BCS. It's time for a playoff in college football, and I mean a minimum 16 team up to 32 team playoff. Sorry, but a 4 team playoff is a joke and an 8 team playoff format won't cut it. (Go Florida!!)
