LC-M golfers blaze to Anahuac title, Burke nabs top medalist

The Little Cypress-Mauriceville boys golf team strolled to a first-place finish at the Anahuac Tournament at Chambers County Golf Course Wednesday and Bear freshman Jack Burke tied his freshman school record to claim the individual title.

The Bears shot a season low 328 as a team while Burke blistered the course, firing a 70.

Burke was followed by a solid effort from teammates Blade Broussard (83), Jack Tindel (86), Mason Sterling (89) and Wyatt Wozniak (116).

Team standings were LC-M 328, West Brook 338, Vidor 345, Kelly 354, Hamshire-Fannett 372, Buna 377, Orangefield 379, Livingston 390, Lumberton 398 and Bridge City 417.

Leading the way for Orangefield was Hunter Christman (91) followed by teammates Logan Risinger (94), Blake Love (96), Chase Broussard (980 and Ryan Braxton (101).

Blaze Montagne had a superb outing for Bridge City, firing a 79. He was followed by teammates Matthew Murdock (111), Bryce Miller (113) and Josh Fuselier.
