Toler to speak at Orange First Church of the Nazarene

Orange First Church of the Nazarene will have a special honored guest on Sunday.

Terry Toler will give the sermon at the 10:45 a.m. services on Sunday, Feb. 11 at 3810 Martin Luther King Jr Drive in Orange.

Toler is the Vice President for Church Relations at Southern Nazarene University (SNU) and has served the University since 2000. In his current assignment he represents the University to over 80,000 members in more than 600 Nazarene churches on the South Central Field (USA). Additionally, he works closely with denominational leaders at the local, district and general church levels. He also gives direction to The Resource Center for Pastoral Leadership at SNU and serves on the Board of Directors of the SNU Foundation.

Prior to joining the administrative team at SNU, Toler, an Ordained Elder in the Church of the Nazarene, spent twenty-five years in pastoral ministry, serving churches in Florida, Ohio, Tennessee and Oklahoma. During that time, he served as a Church Planter, Executive and Senior Pastor.

Toler is a published author and respected as a songwriter and musician. He has been a contributing writer on three Grammy Award-winning recordings, a certified platinum album, and multi-platinum videos, with his songs being recorded by some of the best-known names in Christian and popular music. His songs for children have been translated into many languages and are marketed internationally and his composition, He Still Speaks, was recently released by Word Music as a Choral/Instrumental arrangement.

Toler received an A.A. from Ohio Christian University, B.A. and M.Min. degrees from SNU and the Ed.D. from the University of Sarasota. He is married to Susan, an alumna of SNU. They have two grown sons, Trent (Erin) and Aaron (Lauren), both graduates of SNU, and four grandchildren.

Known as a man of the Word and song, Toler’s message, whether spoken or through music, is the message of joy and hope in Christ.

Southern Nazarene University, whose main campus is located in Bethany, Oklahoma, was established in 1899. Her mission is to make Christlike disciples through higher education in Christ-centered community.
