Orange man leads DPS on Motorcycle Pursuit to Vinton

A Orange man, 26, was taken into custody by Louisiana State Police, after leading Texas DPS Troopers on a Chase from Orange County to Vinton.

According to information obtained from Texas Department of Public Safety Sergeant Trooper Stephanie Davis, a trooper observed a 2013 Honda motorcycle speeding on Interstate 10 near the milepost 862 eastbound in Orange County.

The trooper activated his emergency lights to initiate a traffic stop, but the driver refused to stop and continued eastbound on the interstate in an attempt to elude the trooper.

The driver Matthew Fontenot, led troopers on a chase to the milepost seven in Vinton, where he finally pulled over and was taken into custody.

According to Trooper Davis, the chase took place Saturday evening at approximately 6:15 p.m., when a trooper attempted to conduct a traffic on Interstate 10 in Orange County when a Honda motorcycle failed to stop for the trooper.

Fontenot faces several misdemeanor and felony charges, including evading arrest he remains in the Calcasieu Parish Correctional Facility.
