Special to The Leader

The OCCWG, after taking the summer off, will resume with their meetings, which takes place the 1st Tuesday of each month.

The Guild is open to the Public, and we invite you to attend. Coming in September, we have a keynote speaker, and Bible Study Teacher, who is a Board Member of the Southwest Louisiana Abolitionist group, Laura Aranda first became aware of human trafficking in her area in 2014, and wanted to somehow make a difference. That is the birthing place for the dream of “Pushing Back the Darkness”, her first faith based novel.

She and her family attend First Pentecostal Church of Orange, Texas, pastored by Rev. Gary Wheeler. She travels, speaking about modern day slavery, and the impact it has on our youth in America.

Laura Aranda is passionate in her calling to lead a generation of young women and men, that are sold out to Christ, into opening their eyes to spiritual awareness of human trafficking, that is affecting all of us here in America.

Using the research, she has gleaned over the years of study, and her fiction novel titled “Pushing back the Darkness” which tells of forgiveness and redeeming salvation, Laura provides an honest and practical approach to educate and challenge God’s people, to become more aware of sex trafficking in America, and how they can compassionately help those around them.

Aranda will lead us thru her journey on how she published, what her inspirations were, and an overview of her book. You can reach Laura at lauraaranda@owlofhope.com For questions regarding the Guild, please email Karen Y. Stevens at karen.stevens@coldwellbanker.com or by phone at 409 988-2588.

We meet at the Brown Hearing Center, 105 Camellia in Orange, behind the Dairy Queen from 6:00 to 7:00p. Please join us.
