VIDEO: Truck fire starts as driver leaves parts store

A driver makes trip to parts store before truck catches fire.

The driver of a Ford F250, took his truck, on Sunday, to Auto Zone in the 2000 block of MacArthur Drive for some test after he noticed the truck had been running bad.

According to West Orange Fire Chief T. Veitch, the driver finished having some engine analyst test done on his truck just beforeĀ 7 p.m. As the driver went to leave the store, the vehicle begin to smoke heavily and the engine died.

The driver was able to push the vehicle out of the roadway back into Auto Zone parking lot, where the vehicle caught fire.

The West Orange Fire Department responded to the scene and quickly extinguished the fire within a matter of minutes.

Veitch added, the truck suffered major fire damage to the engine, and heavy water and smoke damage to the cab of the truck.

The driver of the truck was not injured from the fire.
