Special to The Leader

West Orange Christian Church, 900 Lansing Street, invites the Orange area to an eight-week study of C.S. Lewis’s classic work of Christian apologetics, Mere Christianity beginning at 6 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 26 and continuing on Sunday nights at WOCC. The study is a professionally created DVD series narrated by Eric Metaxas and numerous Lewis scholars and friends. Discussion after each 20 minute chapter will be led by Dr. Charlie W. Starr, preaching minister at WOCC. Dr. Starr is an internationally known C.S. Lewis scholar, having taught and written many articles and books about Lewis for over 20 years. Dr. Starr is the world’s leading scholar on Lewis’s handwriting and he has worked with original Lewis documents o two continents. Mere Christianity is considered by many Christian leaders and teachers to be the most important Christian book written in the twentieth century. Its argument for the existence of God and the truth of Christ and its explanation of the Christian virtues and the Trinitarian nature of God make it an invaluable study and as relevant today as it was upon its release more than 50 years ago.
