Special to The Leader

Come kick up your heels with Vidor Rotary Club, and help a good cause in the process!  The Rotarians are hard at work on their second annual Cajun Music Night, to be held Saturday, February 25 from 6:00-10:00 p.m. at Benoit’s on Highway 12.  The event will feature music by Louisiana Cajun artist Sean Ardoin, with dancing and delicious gumbo from James Brown’s Gumbo House.  There will be a silent auction with some really great things such as casino packages, gift cards, home electronics, and many other neat items.  In addition, guests may choose a decorated wine cork for $25.  The cork will be numbered, with the corresponding bottle hidden away.  Once the cork is purchased, the matching wine will be given to the buyer….so it’s a mystery purchase!  There will also be a cupcake sale, with many cupcakes having prize tags attached. It’s going to be a fun evening, and tickets are only $10 each. So get yours now because space is limited.

Tickets are on sale now, so see a Rotarian for a ticket, or email Rotary Club President Tim Andrews at timandrews56@yahoo.com.   Proceeds will help fund Rotary Club scholarships and the green bus program, which takes food and books to Vidor children. The program will run extra in the summer in conjunction with Vidor ISD Child Nutrition, taking meals to children four days a week.
