The Orange branch of AAUW (American Association of University Women) recently recognized Mann Insurance Agency on Park Ave. for being a drop-off point for the group’s annual used book sale, held on the porch of the Lutcher Theatre during the yearly Art in the Park, set in 2017 for Sat., April 8.  Accepting the award is Bret Johns, also accepting on behalf of his brother, Shane Johns, from AAUW President Linda White.  The brothers own & manage the Mann agency.  Proceeds from the book sale benefit scholarships for graduating senior girls from the City of Orange high schools, West Orange-Stark HS & Little Cypress-Mauriceville HS.  Books may begin to be left at Mann’s, 1505 W. Park Ave., on Tues., Jan. 3, 2017.  Appropriate “gently used” books, games, puzzles, coloring books, paper dolls, reference books, CD’s, DVD’s, VCR tapes, cookbooks, biographies, non-fiction, fiction, science fiction, self-help, mysteries, travel, historical fiction, languages, science, philosophy, religion, health, math, etc. have been donated in past years.  AAUW has been part of Orange well over 60 years.  Call Linda White for further information regarding membership at 337-794-0160.
