Save the Date

Get ready to pull out your boots!  Save the date for the Denim and Diamonds Gala presented by the Friends of the Orange Depot, Saturday, November 19, 6:30PM at the VFW Hall on 16th Street.  Special country music entertainers, BBQ, silent and live auction will be featured. Because of a generous grant from the Meadows Foundation the group received in the amount of $50,000, every ticket sale or donation will be matched by this foundation.  F.O.O.D needs your help to complete the project for our city. Outdoor Awareness Class

The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension of Orange County along with the Lower Sabine Neches SWCD #446 is holding the 1st Annual Michael Hoke Memorial Outdoor Awareness for Kids Camp.  This camp is for ages 8 to 14 years old.  It is being held on August 12, 2016 at Claiborne Park from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm.  The deadline to register for this event is August 1, 2016.  Call the Extension Office at 409-882-7010 to register.

 

Fundraiser

Friends of the Orange Depot are selling bricks for the depot. The bricks are available in two sizes, 4 x 8 for $50 and 8 x 8 for $100. Each brick can have a maximum of 16 characters per line with a limit of two lines for the smaller bricks and five lines for the larger bricks. Registration at LCM Schools

Registration for pre-kindergarten, kindergarten and students new to the Little Cypress-Mauriceville School District will take place on individual campuses August 2, 3 and 4, from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

A birth certificate, social security number, immunization record, and proof of residency will be required of students registering for pre-kindergarten and kindergarten.  Students who have been enrolled in another district should present their latest report card, immunization record, and proof of residency at the time of registration.  Parents should report to the campus in which the student will be enrolled.

To be eligible for pre-kindergarten, a student must be four years old on or before September 1, 2016, and qualify for the free lunch program.  To determine eligibility for the free lunch program, parents should report to the food service department at the LCM Administration building, 6586 FM 1130.

 

North Early Learning Center is now accepting applications

North Early Learning Center is now accepting applications for 2016 school year.

Children must be 3 or 4 Years Old by September 1, 2016. NELC Head Start is a County –wide. Transportation is only provided to children living in the WOC district. Applications can be picked and returned to 801 Cordrey, Monday – Thursday from 7 a.m. – 4 p.m. Parent must provide family proof of income and current Child Support, SNAP, TANF or SSI letters, Child’s Birth Certificate, Immunization Record, Social Security Card

 

NOBC MDO/ Preschool Registration

North Orange Baptist Church MDO/ Preschool is now registering for Fall Sessions. Classes are on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Fall Session will begin Sept. 6 and includes 9-months through Pre-K. Virtual VITA/TCE Tax Preparation for those affected by the flood disaster in March 2016

Jackson Community Center (JCC), located at 520 West Decatur Ave. in Orange, is partnering with Beyond Careers to offer free 2015 Virtual VITA/TCE Tax Preparation for those affected by the flood disaster in March 2016.

Electronic filing is available to eligible families and individuals earning up to $58,000.   The center is accepting appointments Monday thru Friday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., July 13 thru September 1, 2016. The service is provided by appointment only.
