PRESS RELEASE — On April 28, 2016 at about 4:45 pm the Orange Police Department responded to the report of an auto-pedestrian accident on the south IH-10 Service Road at the intersection with State Highway 62.

Officers arrived to find that Ernest Lee Brown, a fifty-five year old white male from Vidor, Texas, had attempted to cross the south service road in front of a stopped truck tractor.  As Ernest Brown was crossing the street, the truck tractor proceeded through the intersection when the stop light turned green.  The truck tractor struck Ernest Brown, resulting in his death.  The investigation in ongoing at this time with the assistance of the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Judge Simonton pronounced Ernest Brown deceased.

The Orange Fire Department and Acadian EMS also responded.
