HUMBLE — The District 24-4A champion Bridge City Lady Cardinals had no problems taking down the Cleveland Lady Indians 8-0 in Class 4A Region III bidistrict softball playoff action Friday night in Humble.

Sophomore pitcher Kassidy Wilbur hurled a complete-game shutout as she sat down 14 Lady Indians via the strikeout. She allowed just two hits and walked two.

Meagan Sourdellia paced the Lady Cardinals at the plate, going 3-for-4.

Wilbur was 2-for-3 with two runs batted in. Faith Kaufman was 2-for-4 with a RBI and Baili Thibodaux was 2-for-3.

The Lady Cardinals (29-2) will now move on to face Caldwell (27-6) in the area round next week.

The two will face off in the same place they did a year ago at Livingston’s Grand Slam Park. Game One of the series will be at 6:30 p.m. Friday. Game Two will be Saturday at 2 p.m. with Game Three, if necessary, to follow 30 minutes after Game Two. The Lady Cardinals defeated Caldwell in three games in the same round last year.

Caldwell crushed Houston Wheatley 20-0 in its bidistrict contest.
