A Celebration of Jack Van Metre’s life, age 81, of Vidor, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 16, 2016, at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Jasper, with burial to follow in Tanner Cemetery in Newton County, Texas. Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, April 15, 2016, at the funeral home in Jasper.

Jack died April 12, 2016 at Vidor Health Care. A native of Starks, LA, he had lived in Vidor since 1970 for 46 years & was a long time resident of South East Texas.
